Healthy soils are the foundation of resilient landscapes and thriving communities. In celebration of World Soil Day 2025, the Southern Queensland and Northern New South Wales (SQNNSW) Innovation Hub is inviting local producers, Landcare groups, Traditional Owner organisations, and high school agriculture classes to take part in the World Soil Day Competition — with a $5,000 prize package available to help solve your soil-based challenge.
Supporting local innovation and soil stewardship
If you’re managing land in southern Queensland or northern New South Wales and facing a soil constraint that limits productivity, this is your opportunity to access expert support. Each of the three $5,000 prize packages includes:
- A site visit from the SQNNSW Innovation Hub’s Regional Soil Coordinator (a Registered Soil Practitioner)
- Soil sample collection and analysis through an ASPAC-accredited laboratory
- Professional interpretation of results to guide practical, on-ground action
Together, these insights can help identify key drivers of soil health and build resilience to drought and climate extremes.
