Join BMRG for Session 2 of the Climate Smart Catchments: Natural Capital Training Series, a practical workshop designed to help landholders turn natural capital opportunities into well-planned, achievable projects.
Wednesday, 26 August 2026
8:30 am–12:30 pm
Gunabul Homestead, 9 Power Road, Gympie
The interactive session will guide participants through what a natural capital project could look like on-farm, what information is needed to assess feasibility, and how to compare project costs with potential environmental and financial benefits. It will also explore nature finance pathways, property assessment and the key steps involved in developing a project plan.
Speakers include Dr Lorraine Gordon, Principal of Natural Capital Australia at Climate Friendly; Kym Whiteoak, Director of Canopy Economics & Policy; and Leesa Kelly, BMRG Senior Program Manager – Natural Capital. Together, they will share practical insights into remote-sensed assessments, investment planning, carbon and biodiversity markets, and environmental accounting.
This training workshop is part of BMRG’s Climate Smart Catchments Project, helping remove the barriers for Burnett Mary farmers to access nature finance and environmental markets.
The Climate Smart Catchments Project is supported by the Australian Government through funding from The Natural Heritage Trust under the Climate-Smart Agriculture Program.
