Discover how Traditional cool burning practices can support healthier landscapes, reduce bushfire risk and improve agricultural land management at the Cool Burn Fire Demonstration & Workshop on Thursday, 27 August 2026, hosted by Mark Williams at 154 Avin Road, Magnolia.
This complimentary, hands-on workshop will provide producers and landholders with a practical introduction to cool burning and its role in protecting both Country and productive farmland. Held in a real paddock setting, the event will explore how low-intensity burns can be carefully planned and implemented to reduce fuel loads, encourage healthier ecosystems and build landscape resilience.
Participants will gain practical insights into the principles behind cool burning, including how burns are planned and delivered safely, the factors that influence fire behaviour and outcomes, and how these techniques can be adapted for use on their own properties. The workshop offers a valuable opportunity to see cool burning principles applied in a real-world environment while learning directly from an experienced practitioner.
As part of the morning, attendees will observe a live demonstration and discuss how Traditional land management practices can be integrated into contemporary farming systems to protect native vegetation, improve environmental outcomes and support long-term property resilience.
The workshop runs from 8:30 am to 12:00 pm and is free to attend, with a meal provided for all participants. As the event will be held outdoors in a paddock, attendees are encouraged to wear suitable clothing and boots, bring a hat, water bottle and chair, and be prepared for field conditions.
