Be part of a practical, hands-on learning experience designed to help producers make more informed breeding and management decisions. The Classic Livestock Management Services (CLMS) 3-Day Cattle Evaluation Course returns this August, offering participants the opportunity to learn the proven Classic Livestock Evaluation System and develop practical skills to identify fertile, consistent and well-balanced cattle.
Held from 14–16 August 2026, the course combines classroom learning with on-property cattle assessment at Marshlands Station, 620 Hivesville Road, Marshlands via Murgon, Queensland. Although the course has been condensed from five days to three, participants will still receive the same comprehensive knowledge, with extended daily sessions ensuring valuable practical experience.
Throughout the three days, attendees will gain practical insights into:
- Building greater consistency within their herd
- Identifying key indicators of fertility and performance
- Understanding the relationship between feminine and masculine traits
- Selecting cattle for high-quality meat and milk production
- Identifying more efficient feed converters
- Improving saleable meat yield and overall herd productivity.
The course is suitable for producers wanting to improve herd performance and profitability through better cattle selection and evaluation. According to the organisers, the aim is to equip participants with practical knowledge they can immediately apply on their own properties while supporting the wider Course fees are $1,500 per person, including course materials, meals and refreshments, with a $2,800 couple’s rate and $1,000 for participants under 18 years of age. Places are limited to ensure quality hands-on learning.
