Orchard Convos invites growers to ask the experts

​Fruit and nut growers are invited to join Orchard Convos – ‘Ask me anything’, a free online series by Soils For Life connecting growers with leading agronomists, agroecologists and consultants for practical, one-hour conversations.

Running from 26 May to 4 June 2026, the casual Zoom sessions will give growers the opportunity to ask questions, explore real-world orchard challenges and hear from specialists on farm planning, biological controls, beneficial insects, biodiversity and interrow management.

Session dates:

Tuesday 26 May, 12pm AEST
Darren Doherty and Campbell Mercer on Farm Planning for Orchard Resilience
This session will run for 1.5 hours.

Thursday 28 May, 12pm AEST
Dr Paul Horne and Rebecca Addison on Life Cycles and Management of Beneficial Insects in Orchards

Wednesday 3 June, 12pm AEST
Dean Metcalf on Biological Controls for Orchards

Thursday 4 June, 12pm AEST
Abigail Makim on Biodiversity and Interrow Management in Orchards

The series is part of the Orchard Resilience Project, supported by the Australian Government through funding from the Climate-Smart Agriculture Program under the Natural Heritage Trust.

Registration is free but essential to access the Zoom link. Growers are encouraged to book their place and bring their questions.
