Primary producers, landholders, and communities across the Burnett Mary region are continuing the recovery journey following recent flooding and severe weather events. A coordinated, informed approach - grounded in data, collaboration, and local knowledge - will help accelerate recovery while strengthening long-term resilience across our landscapes, waterways, and agricultural systems.
Recovery Support Following Recent Flooding
Timely reporting and access to the right support services can make a measurable difference to how quickly businesses, landscapes, and communities recover. Updated guidance from the Queensland Department of Primary Industries outlines practical steps to assess impacts, protect livestock, and access available recovery assistance. Early reporting also strengthens the evidence base needed to activate targeted support across the region.

Flood Impact Survey – Supporting Regional Recovery
Building a clear picture of flood impacts across the Burnett Mary region is critical to securing recovery funding and directing investment where it is needed most. Landholders are encouraged to complete the flood impact survey, capturing information on damage to infrastructure, livestock, crops, and waterways. This data directly informs recovery planning and strengthens applications for regional support.

Feral Pig Management Action Plan Consultation
Feral pigs continue to place significant pressure on agricultural productivity, water quality, and culturally significant sites across the region. The Queensland Government is seeking feedback on the Draft Feral Pig Management Action Plan 2026–2031, with an extended deadline of 16 April 2026. This is an opportunity for landholders, Traditional Owners, and stakeholders to shape a coordinated, long-term approach grounded in local knowledge and measurable outcomes.
The online survey takes approximately 10–15 minutes to complete.
Consultation closes: 5pm, Thursday 16 April 2026
We encourage all landholders and stakeholders to review the draft and provide feedback here.
Strong recovery outcomes rely on collaboration between landholders, Traditional Owners, industry, and government. By sharing information, engaging in available support programs, and contributing local knowledge, we can co-design solutions that protect productivity, strengthen ecosystems, and build a more resilient future for the Burnett Mary region.
