See regenerative agriculture in practice and learn how Traditional Land Management is helping build more resilient farming systems at the Climate Smart Agriculture Demonstration on Saturday, 12 September 2026, at Golden Hill Farm, Rosedale.
Golden Hill Farm is a small, regenerative mixed enterprise in the Baffle Creek Catchment that supplies paddock-to-plate produce while championing sustainable farming and local food security. As a demonstration farm participating in BMRG's Climate Smart Agriculture program, the property has been implementing practical on-ground actions to improve soil health, enhance biodiversity, protect waterways and native forest, and strengthen the long-term resilience of the landscape.
The afternoon field demonstration will provide an opportunity to hear directly from the producers about their regenerative farming journey and the work they have undertaken in partnership with BMRG. The event will include a guided walk through a recently cool-burnt section of native forest to discuss the planning, techniques and ecological response to the burn. Participants will also experience a live cool burn demonstration, showcasing how cultural land management practices can be integrated into modern farming systems to support healthier landscapes and reduce fuel loads.
Following the field activities, attendees are invited to continue the conversation over a Paddock to Plate Producer Dinner, where local producers will showcase some of the region’s finest food, including barbecue meat from the paddocks of Golden Hill Farm. The dinner offers a unique opportunity to connect with fellow producers while celebrating the value of sustainable, locally produced food.
This field day is supported by the Australian Government through funding from The Natural Heritage Trust under the Climate-Smart Agriculture Program. The paddock burn demonstration is made possible by the Empowering Adaptive Graziers in the Burnett Mary Project, as part of the $6 million Grazing Practice Change Program, funded through the Queensland Government’s Queensland Reef Water Quality Program.
