They're digital, and we're not going to pretend otherwise. What makes them worth talking to is where their knowledge comes from: decades of BMRG's own research, monitoring and species work, written into plain language. Not a generic search result, and not a person pretending to be one.
What to ask them
What lives in my stretch of the creek. Is this one native or a pest. What was that call at dusk. I've found a turtle nest, what now. What should I plant along the bank. There's a sick animal on the road, who do I ring.
What they can't do
They can't look at photos, so describe what you saw and they'll help you narrow it down. They'll tell you when they're not sure, and put you through to a real person on our team when you need one.
Why we built them
Our team can't be everywhere at once. This is how you reach us in between.
