BMRG is delivering a three-part Natural Capital Training Series through the Climate Smart Catchments Project, supporting producers to better understand the value of natural capital and the opportunities it presents for farm businesses and regional landscapes.

The training series is designed to remove practical barriers to participation in carbon, biodiversity, and sustainability markets by providing clear, evidence-based guidance and hands-on tools. By building knowledge and confidence, the program helps landholders make informed decisions that strengthen both environmental outcomes and long-term farm productivity.

Through this series, participants will explore two key pathways for engaging with natural capital:

  1. Accessing emerging environmental markets
Including carbon sequestration, biodiversity credits, and other mechanisms that reward landholders for improving the condition and resilience of natural assets.
  2. Demonstrating sustainability through recognised frameworks
Understanding certification programs, greenhouse gas emissions accounting, and reporting approaches that support supply-chain transparency and market access.

Session 1 will be held in Maryborough on 30 March and will focus on emissions accounting and future opportunities for producers.

Delivered through the Climate Smart Catchments Project, the training reflects BMRG’s commitment to working alongside producers, industry, and community partners to build a region where environmental stewardship, agricultural productivity, and economic resilience go hand in hand.
