Have Your Say: Help Shape Feral Animal Management Across the Burnett Mary Region

Newsroom 1 min read , November 26, 2025

BMRG is inviting landholders across the Burnett Mary region to take part in our Feral Animal Management Survey, open now until Sunday 14 December 2025. Your input is critical to understanding the scale, trends and impacts of feral pigs, wild dogs, deer, foxes, rabbits and cats across our landscapes.

This survey supports the Queensland Government’s contribution to a nationally collated Pest Vertebrate Survey. The information you provide will help strengthen coordinated, long-term feral animal management planning across the region and nationally

Why Your Voice Matters

We’re seeking on-ground insights about:

  • Changes in feral animal numbers and impacts
  • Environmental damage, including wildlife and waterway impacts
  • Agricultural losses in livestock and crop production
  • Control activities such as trapping, baiting, ground or aerial shooting
  • Your involvement in community-led control programs

All data is de-identified, securely stored, and used only to build an accurate regional picture of feral animal pressure.

Support Future Regional Programs

By completing the survey, you can also choose to register your interest in future BMRG feral animal management programs planned for 2026, including workshops, coordinated control activities and community events.

Help Strengthen Our Region’s Resilience

Feral animals impact biodiversity, production, cultural heritage and the long-term health of Country. Your experience and insights help shape more effective, collaborative management efforts that protect both environment and economy.

Please complete the survey and share it with neighbours, community groups and anyone affected by feral animals across the region.
