BMRG is inviting landholders to take part in two free Future Drought Fund field days this June, designed to support stronger grazing businesses, healthier landscapes and more resilient farming systems across the Burnett Mary region.

The first event, Building Better Pastures Field Day, will be held on Tuesday 2 June 2026, from 8:30am to 2:30pm, at ‘Holroyd’, 136 Holroyd Road, Booubyjan.

Hosted by Catriona and Russel Murdoch, the field day will give producers practical insights into multispecies planting trials, soil test results, dung beetles and beneficial insects, pasture identification and grazing management.

Attendees are encouraged to bring plants for identification, with all specimens to be kept in a sealed bag for biosecurity purposes. Guest speakers include Damien O’Sullivan from Grazing Solutions and Rob Young from EcoInsects.

Hosted by Michelle Chicken and Boyd Paton, this practical session will focus on how the rumen and digestive system functions, key principles of cattle nutrition, ways to support animal performance, and how probiotics work.

Speakers include Desiree Jackson, Livestock Management, and Andrew Doljanin from Nutriment. Attendees will also have the chance to win a Nutriment Weaner Probiotic Pack.
