Disaster Recovery Assistance Grants now available through QRIDA for eligible primary producers affected by flood events

​Primary producers affected by recent flooding and severe weather events may be eligible for financial assistance of up to $75,000 through the Exceptional Disaster Assistance Recovery Grants, administered by QRIDA.

These grants are available to support primary producers impacted by the Queensland Monsoon Trough, Cyclone Koji, Cyclone Narelle and associated severe weather events occurring since 24 December 2025, where direct damage has been sustained to a primary production enterprise.

Eligible producers can apply for:

  • An initial grant of up to $10,000 to assist with immediate clean-up and recovery costs
  • Further grant funding up to a total of $75,000, with evidence of expenditure required for subsequent claims

Funding can be used for a range of recovery activities, including:

  • Clean-up works and debris removal
  • Repairing fencing, sheds, yards and other farm infrastructure
  • Repair or replacement of plant, machinery and essential equipment
  • Disposal of damaged crops, grain or livestock
  • Purchasing fodder or supplies to maintain livestock health
  • Re-establishing pasture or crops
  • Hiring additional labour or contractors for recovery work
  • Safety inspections and urgent repairs not covered by insurance

To be eligible, applicants must:

  • Be an eligible primary producer with an ABN
  • Be located within a declared disaster area
  • Demonstrate direct physical damage caused by the event
  • Intend to continue operating the primary production enterprise
  • Provide evidence such as photos, invoices, quotes or receipts

Defined disaster areas include multiple local government regions across Queensland, including Bundaberg, Fraser Coast, Gympie, North Burnett, South Burnett and Gladstone, among others.

Applications are open until 6 January 2027, or until funding is fully allocated. QRIDA staff are available to help producers through the application process, including one-on-one support if needed.
