Residents across the Burnett Mary region are invited to connect with support services and each other at an upcoming Disaster Recovery Drop-In Information Session and Community BBQ at Booubyjan Hall on Friday 27 March, from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm.
Delivered in partnership with Gympie Regional Council, local organisations and recovery services, the session provides a welcoming space for community members to access practical information, share experiences, and strengthen connections following recent flood impacts. The event reflects a collaborative approach to recovery, bringing agencies and community together to support long-term resilience across the region.
Attendees will be able to speak directly with representatives from a range of services including BMRG, AgForce, Burnett Catchment Care Association, the Department of Primary Industries, QRIDA, Rural Aid, Rural Financial Counselling Services, Services Australia, and disaster recovery wellbeing providers. Families are encouraged to attend, with a free BBQ and children’s activity corner available to support a relaxed, community-focused environment.
By working alongside landholders, community groups and recovery partners, BMRG continues to support practical, locally-led recovery that strengthens both livelihoods and landscapes. Opportunities like this help ensure people have the information, networks and confidence needed to rebuild with resilience and plan for the future.
