Tailored support for graziers

The Grazing Resilience and Sustainable Solutions (GRASS) program supports Burnett Mary region graziers to rejuvenate poor (C) or degraded (D) land, enhancing productivity and sustainability.

Extension officers work with graziers to develop customised action plans which assist with grazing reef regulations compliance. This approach helps improve land condition, reduce soil loss, and boost pasture composition, enhancing both economic and environmental outcomes.

Modern techniques and practices

The program covers essential topics including:

  • Land condition improvement: Strategies for maintaining healthy soil.
  • Satellite imagery: Remote monitoring for informed decisions.
  • Reef regulations: Compliance with Queensland’s environmental standards.
  • Mapping: Creating detailed property and land type maps.

Workshop details

Graziers are invited to join the upcoming workshop on 28th October, with RSVP by 21st October. Property visits will follow, providing tailored support. Early registration is recommended due to limited spaces.

Participants can access free property mapping, aiding in effective land management planning.
