Have you bought a farm - or are you thinking about it - but aren't sure where to start?

Join us for the ‘I Bought a Farm - Information Morning’, presented by Knowledge to Practice and proudly supported by Burnett Mary Regional Group (BMRG). This practical and informative session is designed specifically for first-time farmers, lifestyle landholders and anyone wanting to better understand how to manage their land with confidence.

Presented by Andrew Zerner from Knowledge To Practice, the morning will explore the common challenges new landholders face and introduce practical strategies for managing grazing, pasture, livestock and seasonal decision-making. Andrew has worked with hundreds of farming families across Australia and is passionate about helping new landholders build healthy soils, productive pastures, resilient grazing systems and thriving landscapes.

You’ll also hear about the FARMS Framework and the new I Bought a Farm: Boots & All program—a practical, year-long learning journey that supports participants as they put knowledge into practice through the seasons.

The session is ideal for people looking to buy a farm, first-time and part-time farmers, new acreage or hobby farm owners, and landholders wanting to build their knowledge and confidence.

During the morning, you’ll learn the five key questions everyone should ask before buying a farm, gain an introduction to the FARMS Framework for grazing animals, explore how understanding your farm’s purpose can guide better decision-making, and discover practical grazing management strategies suited to South East Queensland’s six distinct seasons. The session will also cover compliance, biosecurity and landholder responsibilities, where to find trusted support and resources through BMRG, and what is included in the I Bought a Farm: Boots & All program.

Whether your goal is healthier pastures, happier livestock or simply greater confidence in your farming decisions, this is an opportunity to learn from experienced practitioners, connect with other local landholders and discover the next steps for your farming journey.

We look forward to seeing you in Maleny for this complimentary event with morning tea included.
