Beneath the Surface and Beyond: Building a Bright Future for Agriculture

Newsroom 1 min read , July 16, 2026

BMRG was proud to support a memorable event with a unique difference last week, Beneath The Surface and Beyond. Hosted by Grant, Carly and the Burnham family at Bonnie Doone, North Burnett, over 140 people came together to connect, be inspired, share knowledge, values, learnings, laughs and hope for a bright future in agriculture.

The Bonnie Doone landscape is described as a "heartland" and those that attended could see why, with a 360 degree view stretching to the horizon. The food was sensational, with a thoughtfully planned menu of delicious local produce and Bonnie Doone smoked beef briskets. The next generation Knox, Lily, Ruby (and Quade in spirit - although the rugby camp was more appealing on this occasion) played a huge role in the success of a seamless event on the day.

A warm thank you to RCS, Carbonlink and Bonnie Doone for hosting a stella event with insightful sessions and powerful knowledge building, not to mention taking us on a journey behind the success of early adopters of carbonlink projects. We were fortunate to hear from RCS founder Dr Terry McCosker, leading the session in the soil pit. BMRGs' Dr Matt Taylor presented on the work being delivered in the natural capital space, launching The Inland Burnett Integrated Project. You can learn more about the project here

The day was truly magical and perfect in every way. We look forward to the next one.
